since IRS does not recognize taxes being paid by LLC the salary paid to the Officer would result in overpayment of all payroll taxes and they would have to be adjusted at year end or as soon as adjustments can be made within the same period before the monthly or quarterly payroll taxes payments are made, right?

We started on wave payroll midway through the year. Despite importing our previous months numbers before starting our first payroll on wave, it seems like wave payroll doesn't adjust for changes to salaries correctly going forward. It merely calculates the monthly totals for new salary figures as if it were salary/12. Support has confirmed this.…

Hello, we have a new small LLC. We're wanting to track time of our employees, but we're not doing payroll just yet (we all have other jobs... this is a new venture that no one is currently getting paid for). Is it possible to have the option of keeping a timesheet but not having to use the payroll plan? Thanks!

If I paid $680 a week, and after the deductions it's $520, why does the $680 get withdrawn from my acc? That $160 does that get returned to me? If so when? New to this

I am in the US and signed up for Payroll, Direct Deposit and Automated Tax Payments. I noticed that automated transactions are created as a Journal Entry when Payroll is approved, and an automated Expense Entry is created when my employees are paid via direct deposit. However there is no automated Expense Entry when Wave pays my Payroll Taxes both…

I have been using Wave for 5 years now as a sole proprietor. However as of January 1st, 2019 I became a single member LLC. I use the LLC as a pass through. Here is my dilemma. Facts * I have 10 customers that pay me a monthly fee * I have 6 simple monthly business expenses * I take income - minus monthly business expenses = taxable income simp…

Hey all, This year is a bit of an odd year but I have moved from being employed (over half the year) and am now contracting out. After reading piles of government material (Canada - BC/AB to be exact), they said that until you pass the $30,000 threshold of earned income outside of your employment, you do not need a registered number/business as a…

I run a 501c3 boosters club for our local high school. We have a number of coaches whose stipends we pay and I’d like to streamline and organize this process. I’ve read what I could here. Your documentation is fantastic. 1. We will be paying out coaches probably 3x/year. I’d like to do direct deposit. Will we have to pay the monthly payroll f…

What's Wave's best practice for reimbursing employees for business expenses? Does Wave have built-in functionality or a workflow that supports employees submitting expense reports for reimbursement? These expenses are incurred on an employee's personal credit card or paid out of pocket with cash. I've read the reimbursable expenses FAQ, but that u…

We are a seasonal lawn care business with only 1 or 2 employees and we are only in operation about 6 months of the year. Would we have to pay for the payroll service during the months we aren't in operation, or could we pay month by month during the months we need it?
-
Aloha, Is there any way to change the payroll frequency? We are in the US and need to change the payroll frequency from semi monthly to bi-weekly. This is because we have hired more people and have seasonal hires and realized that bi-weekly payroll makes more sense. I found that Waves does not allow to change the pay frequency after the first pay …

I have read all the other 401k posts available - BUT how does one move the payroll money to the correct account for Employee Contributions? I have added the Deduction to the Employee Record ($ every pay cycle), but not sure what's going to happen next and how to actually acquire the funds to move them.

I'm not signed up for Payroll yet because I only have contractors and that piece just opened up for Wave. But, I'm considering moving my 1099 payments over from Square to Wave now. How long does it take for money to be direct deposited into my contractor's account? (Same day, 2 days, 1 week...)

What is this... accounting software that can't even manually set transaction record when we pay ourselves manually.

Hi there, I have now setup Wave to do my Payroll, and also have a bank connection with my checking account that payroll is paid out of. That is resulting in 2 entries - 1 created by Payroll, and one for the withdrawal from my account - see the image to make that clear. Is there a way to merge the 2 (ideally automatically)? If not, do I just delete…

Is there a way to pay my 1099 contractors by piece/service? I invoice them by pieces assembled or service conducted. I would love to be able to pull an invoice and see what their payroll by the invoice would be?

Hi there, my business is setup as an LLC. I want to start paying myself payroll for the first time (no other employees) and am setting that up in Wave. Do you know if I need to separately file a DE 34 Report of New Employee with the California EDD or if that is handled by Wave tax filing? Thanks!
